Still working on those facial forms from busts, here's a selection from the studies.

Either I'm a terrible liar or I just can't put the pencil down! Studies from busts, these were fun to do as I had to consider planes of shape while constructing them.

Ambrus studies ( a few of which are of my own design) and a few sketchy looking aliens, probably won't update until new year, so Merry Christmas! :)

Here are a few drawings done while riding the train to university today. You may have guessed from the first one I have been playing TES V: Skyrim, I'm enjoying the experience and interests it has spurred within my imagination. Some digital stuff soon, but no promises!

I've discovered blue pencils yes, I quite like working with them.

Sketches I made today during another lunch break at university. This time I tried some alien/monster creatures along with a few robots. I recieved an assignment today in which we have to design a robot for a short comic strip, luckily the tall robot I posted here last week is perfect for this! (With a little tweaking of course).

Sorry for the lack of posts, It has been a busy September and early October but now I should be posting regularly at full speed! Expect some life drawing in coming weeks and more design work and images from my sketchbook. There will be digital art at some point also.

Another practise painting, I'm slowly getting better at handling values. Both this painting and the previous started out entirely as black and white value paintings before being developed.

A practise painting inspired by the works of Richard Smitheman who through his work has motivated me to try new things.

All About the Colour

Was working on this today, It's a small part of a bigger picture. It's half finished, but at this stage I quite like this section of it, so I felt like I would share it with people.

Victorian Incursion

These paintings are for a project I am working on, I'm generating them by illustrating scenes from a book.
The images are purposely left unfinished so I can evaluate multiple works and continue with the ones that are most effective or striking.

Practise

A practise painting I worked on a few weeks back. Following some advice I'd taken from Feng Zhu's youtube video tutorials I was able to put it into practise with this environment study.

Study

Rendering Study, 30 mins. Maybe next time I'll try a still life instead of a single object.

Sketches

One or two sketches I've done recently. The pencil drawings are studies from a Japanese published book called 'Hyperangle' it's chock full of obliquely angled photographs of the human form, great for studying anatomy in my opinion. The digital one is a collaborative piece I worked on, but took over as the other artist left, never finished it though.
